Party!

Click on any photo to enlarge.

Last night, I was given the privilege to go crazy with my camera at my friend's cocktail party! I was not prepared for just how cool this thing was going to be when I walked in. Indoor trees? Autumn leaves? Fairytale pumpkins? Well, hello, coolness! Anyway, here are a few that I took there.

Can I just once again say, wow? Ivan knows how to party. Yes, he does. And... yes, I did sort of let him snap a few of me, as I talked about how camera shy I am. Ironic, 'non?

The rest can be seen here.

A novel idea... just in time for the holidays!

So, how many of you are going to be buying from local merchants on Black Friday, rather than toughing it out at the mall? I have been doing this for years, and I've gotta say... not only is it more rewarding, because you are supporting local businesses and keeping money in your community, but the goods are usually unique, tasteful, and something that someone close by, poured his or her heart and soul into. And lets' face it. Shopping this way is also less aggravating, with fewer crowds to fight. And, usually, you get to see people you genuinely want to share space with, am I right? I could go on, and on.

The list of reasons I shop this way is long, and varied.

That said, I hate malls. I really, truly, do. I know I'm not alone here. And yet, sometimes I still feel like I might like to have some traditional holiday photos taken of my kids. But where can I go for that? Not many other places... but the mall.

Until now. I have decided that this year, She Shot Me! Will be hosting Santa Claus in the studio. I will be sure to keep him well-fed with some pretty spectacular cookies, cocoa, and all of the other treats I know he loves. He has agreed that this sounds like a pretty great idea.

So... if you are thinking you may want to get a few good shots of your kids with Jolly old St. Nick, but would like to keep things low-key, and fairly quiet, we will start this off on Black Friday, and continue every weekend, until Christmas.

What you will receive: A 15-20 minute session, where I will take a few great shots with the big man. From there, I will quick-process 5 of the best images from the session onto a CD for you to take home, the same day!

What it will cost: Just $30!

Sound good? Hope to see you here!

Sessions will be by appointment only, and you can book one by emailing me at hedrowilson@gmail.com , or calling 503-467-1758!

Happy Holidays,

Recently, I had a little kangaroo come into my studio to play! Oh, what fun we had! Thank you both for a great shoot!

AIDSWalk, 2011

Here are a few from AIDSWalk, 2011. Our team, Ivan Dollar Salon, raised $15,069. My friend Ivan, owner of the aforementioned salon, brought in $8,790 as an individual fundraiser. Cascade AIDS Project received over $465,000, which beat last year's record of $379,000! Way to go, everyone!

This was just one of those fun shoots for me. Some highlights:

Thanks everyone, for making last Sunday great!

Vhay Family Studio Session

This weekend, I got to spend some time in my studio with the Vhay Family. They are such a delight to be around, so funny, and willing to do just about anything for the camera. I realize there are a lot of images in this sneak peek, but not even close to the number they are getting!

Yes, once again, very hard to choose just a few favourites.

This shoot was a real treat, and one heck of an awesome session! Thanks, you guys!

Sneak Preview: Zollner

Here are a few of my favourites from my shoot with the Zollner girls last week at Edgefield. We had an absolutely magical time out there, and I could NOT stop shooting! This shoot amassed over 500 photos altogether, so you could imagine the trouble I had finding just a few favourites for their sneak peek!

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
